Full Moon on Whitetop - It was a bitter cold night near the end of January. It was full moon. The mountain tops were covered with rime ice and snow. What a great time to travel to Whitetop Mountain (5,520), the second highest mountain in Virginia. The result - a Christmas card scene with ice-covered trees glistening under the full moon with Beech and Sugar Mountains in the far distance.
