Winter Shadows at Yates
Yates Mill, a water-powered grist mill, is the centerpiece of Yates Mill County Park located in southern Wake County about eight miles from Raleigh, North Carolina. The mill was built around 1756, the year that Mozart was born. For nearly 200 years the water-powered mill produced lumber, milled corn and wheat, and carded wool. The mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the only restored operational automatic mill in North Carolina and one of just a few in the country.
